What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced Client Service General Ledger Accountant who is committed to delivering exceptional internal and external customer service in a virtual work environment. This is an external client-facing role.
The Accountant will report to a Client Service Partner and work closely with colleagues throughout the firm. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Gaining an understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilizing that knowledge in engagements
Preparing accurate and timely financial reports to help our clients run their businesses, and build long-lasting relationships through ongoing support and excellent customer service
Assisting multiple clients with the full accounting processes, i.e. maintaining the general ledger, generating and posting all journal entries in a timely manner, coordinating monthly close, maintaining budgets and reporting on budget to actual, and preparing monthly/quarterly financial statements with related work papers. The activities are moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of complete and accurate general ledger and financial statements.
Processing transactions within an ERP environment (e.g., Syspro, NetSuite) for clients with high transaction volume: posting vendor bills and payments, generating customer invoices and recording customer payments, uploading e-commerce and Expensify transactions into the ERP platform, posting journal entries for inventory and related accruals, posting payroll journal entries and other month-end balance adjustments, maintaining general ledgers for assigned clients using QuickBooks Online
Performing accounting functions requiring a thorough knowledge of general accounting methods, principles, and practices
Performing variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify and investigate unusual fluctuations
Researching accounting or reporting issues identified
Performing systems process improvement, documentation of processes, internal controls activities, and providing audit support
Liaising with company owners, CEOs, and client personnel for smooth transaction processing, issue resolution, and responding to client requests and inquiries
Working alongside Partners, Managers, and Accountants as a member of a client engagement team to build rapport and strong client relationships
Adhering to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality
Supporting management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and other tasks as necessary.
Basic Requirements
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 year(s) of direct general ledger corporate accounting experience
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree (from an accredited 4-year college or university)
Required Fields of Study: Accounting
Successful candidate will need to be available during the Pacific Time (PT) zone hours 9:00 AM-5:00 PM to align with our clients and colleagues and respond to inquiries or issues
Preferred Education and Certifications
Certification(s) Preferred: CPA and/or CMA license is a plus
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and/or Experience
Demonstrates thorough knowledge, abilities, and/or proven record of success in the following:
Working with a startup/small-size business ($10-25M in annual revenue)
Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
Manufacturing industry experience
General ledger accounting with proficiency in U.S. GAAP
Month-end and year-end close processes and deadlines
Analytical skills and ability to interpret complex reports, needs, and documentation
Presentation skills and an ability to explain accounting issues clearly and succinctly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work collaboratively with teams
Project management with high attention to detail, a problem solver, and intellectual curiosity
Effectively managing time, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines
Working independently, taking initiative, and being willing to assume ownership of assigned projects and duties
QuickBooks Online, ERPs, and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
MS Excel (e.g. vlookup, IF function, pivot table)
SaaS platforms to plan/organize work (e.g., Monday.com, Slack), Bill.com and/or HubDoc a plus
100% Remote position - prior experience successfully working in a virtual team environment

Compensation
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Base Salary Range: $60,000/year - $65,000/year, full-time position
